Urban vs Tacticool

I think I may have managed to paint the most badass raider ever. Not going to lie when I say this is, hands down, my favorite so far, despite it being 2 years in the making.

Basically, I was working on one of my signature Maverick commissions when I saw the half painted husk of my raider sitting on the table. I had put it there weeks ago with the thought that I would life to finish it, but losing motivation shortly after. This time I was not to be deterred. I mixed up some paint until I could match the old brick color I used a couple years back, and very happily found a match; then I got to work.

About halfway through painting side two I had a dilemma. The first side had some cool custom graffiti that I painted on, but what was I to do with the second side? As luck had it, banksy was on my mind, and I don't think there would've been a better inspiration for what I wanted this to look like. A little later I had the brick all painted on and was cutting out a small stencil to put my own little banksy touch to the brick, and it couldn't have turned out better.

One thing I realized later was that I did mess up a little originally and put cs-6. I don't know what I was thinking. That was 2 years ago and probably the only thing wrong in the whole thing, but it doesn't matter cause it looks bad ass.

The hardest part of this however wad the fact that the blaster had been torn apart two years ago. Lucky I had a second raider to tear apart so I could try and figure out what I was doing. Somehow I still had all the screws and everything went together just fine.

I took a few pics and then grabbed the Rayven I did recently, feeling it would make a perfect partner in a picture. Looked pretty neat.

Boredom Spawned Motivations

Hopefully some of you are still watching my blog, I finally have some updates for you!

After falling off the planet for the nteenth time, I finally got something new done. I have a number of blasters I've been wanting to work on and finally finished one. My tacticool Rayven. Yeah tacticool may be kind of fading from popularity, but I still love the style. It's another blue color accented blaster, yes I need to break away from that color a little, which I plan on doing.

The next is something you haven't seen in forever, and that is progress on the forgotten alpha meson blaster. I'm still not sure if I'll ever finish it, but I'm a few steps father forward. And even if it takes me years more to finish it, it's not like dr. who is going to fall out of popularity.

Anyway, I'm posting this on my phone because my 9 year old computer suffered massive failure for the 3rd time in the last year. I don't think I'm going to fix it this time, but I'm just telling you in case my pictures don't work, that is the problem.

WTF China?! TaoBao Is Full Of Weird And Awesome

So, I know that China loves to pretend copyright laws don't exist... or at least it seems that way some times.

Now I don't know if you've ever had the enjoyment of looking through the TaoBao website, (Basically a Chinese eBay) but if you have, you will probably have noticed a number of things that made you tilt your head or maybe wish you could get your hands on for it's unique look.

Well, through a recent fun search through this interesting selection I found a few, that I thought were worth noting to everyone else.

'Murica! The Air Force Inspired Long Shot

Hello again everyone!
We are extremely excited to show off our newest creation and commission! I'm going to admit we had our doubts about how it would turn out while we were working on it, but in the end it became another stunner; dear to our heart, and it will be missed as it goes off into the wild blue yonder.

My wife's sister's husband is the one who commissioned us to make this for his brother's birthday. We got the idea when thinking about the commissioner, who was enrolled in the ROTC for the Air Force. We figured something a little more personalized would be awesome to see. The best part is that he has no idea what we've done to it yet. He just told us he wanted one of the 'big Nerf rifles'. So I'm sure he will be just as surprised as his brother.

Anyway, without further ado, here it is:

Neo-Tek: The Tek 4 to Die For

I know you have all seen many of the week looking, goofy colored buzz bee blasters, including the wimpy looking Tek 4. Well, I surprised myself this time with how well this paint job worked out, and managed to make one of my favorite blasters to date. I'm sure this is one that anyone would be happy to show off, and have amongst their armory.

More pictures after the jump. --->

Commission Week: It's Finally Over

It's been a long 15 day week getting these blasters finished, but well worth it! The results are stunning as always, and I know you are all jumping out of your seats to look at the pics. So, without further ado, here they are. (Mixed in is a few of the older blasters I've done, was just how I set up the shots was all.)

Commission Week: Through The Mist

Hello again! Right on track I got to work clear coating the blasters! This is definitely one of my favorite parts. The clear coat really gives a nice shine that makes so many details stand out, and does a good job protecting the hard work and effort we put into each blaster.

They should be all cured by tomorrow, and I can take some time to get some great shots before getting things boxed up. I'm very happy to finally get to another finished product!

Commission Week: A Little Overdo

So, a little later update than expected. Life, it seems, enjoys making things difficult. Especially when it comes to giving my any quarter to get necessary things done. Nevertheless we have soldiered on and we are on track to have the commission finished and shipped out Monday morning!

Comission Week: Working Hard or Hardly Working

So here we are again with another update. Painting is about halfway done. We are about ready to start on our much loved wood grain paint. It's been a little slower than expected these last couple days because of life, but we're on top of things and working to get done as soon as possible!

Commission Week: Day 1 - Teardown

Hello everybody! It's time for the old Neo Creations you know and love to return.

I received a commission the other day and have one week to complete it. So I decided to keep you all filled in on the progress as I go along. The commission was for 4 Nerf Mavericks and 1 Nerf Barrel Break done in steampunk style. So keep watching as I go through my day to day progress from tear down to ship out.

We Finally Opened An Etsy Store!

Hello everyone! We are trying to get things going forward a little further here at Neo Creations, and for that we have finally opened up a store at Etsy!

Our inventory is still small, but it includes a number of items you have never seen before!

Remember that April fools joke a while back about the plushies? ...ehehehe... well it wasn't entirely a joke! We are actually adding plushies to our line of crafted products. Among other things we would like to begin making are holsters, swords, and more video game and anime oriented products. We will still make the Nerf stuff, and plan on doing as much of that as possible once the weather permits, but this other side of Neo Creations will give us something to do until we can either get a heated garage or warmer weather.

I would like to thank everyone so far who has followed us for sticking with it, even through the many hiatus' that we go through. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and next to that light is a lot of awesome.

Winter Hiatus

This is basically a short blurb about the weather. Sadly, not an update on anything new just yet. Not that I don't have things to do. I have a touch up job and a commission I need to get done for a customer of mine, but weather has just not been permitting for me to do it. It got around 4 degrees last night, and I need it to be at least 50 for the base coats I spray, and the finishing clear coats. I have a garage, but it doesn't have light or power to it, and therefor no heat, and with one of the windows being make-shift and crappy, my attempts at heating it up using a heater and extension cord have been complete failures. So, I'm just sitting here, praying for rain, or rather, warmth; but Utah winters are pretty bad, and I don't know if I'll be able to get back to anything until around April.

My only other options are finally getting ahead on trying some more mods, and such on blasters. I always wanted to take one of my longstrikes and attach that over-under I have to the front. I've never done anything like that yet, so it could be interesting and fun. I could also eventually get back to my Alpha Meson blaster project that's just been sitting for the last year and a half. I'm sure plenty of people would love to see that.

Well, it's all to see what comes. I don't have a lot of time usually. I work two jobs at the moment, so does my wife, just so we can pay the bills. So there isn't a lot of time for us to do Neo Creations related things. However it would be nice to be able to get ahead on it to a point where it is bringing in some extra income. I'd love for Neo Creations to be my second job rather than having to be out of the house all day.

Anyway, sad, depressing, cold, wintery, snowy rant over for now. I'm not gone, just shut down during this off season.
