Hello there everyone!
I have finally completed my very first re-barreling of a gun. I picked up a Spy Gear Rocket Blaster at the local thrift store for $2 on Friday, and the moment I saw it, I knew what had to be done.
It was one of the easiest mods I have yet to do. Just took a coupler, a length of 1/2 cpvc and some epoxy.
I opened the gun up, chopped the barrel down, and glued a coupler on. That's it!
After giving it a good 24 hours to cure, I stuck it back together and it looked like this.
I was totally unprepared for what happened next. I had a good opportunity go range test the thing and was blown away by the flat ranges I was hitting. I don't have any stefans that work in the 1/2 in cpvc, so I was stuck with streamlines, but that didn't seem to matter. Out of the shots I did they all hit between 85ft. and 140ft. being the furthest! Such a simple mod, yet such an awesome result. I definitely recommend picking one of these up and re-barreling it to anyone! You will not be disappointed!
Yup, these things are like the old-style Big Blasts, just a tad uglier.
ReplyDeleteTheir internals are exactly the same.
