My Raider's Rebellious Paint Job

So I decided with my Raider I wanted to try something new. I usually go with steampunk-ish styles, and faux-wood additions. This time I wanted to do something a little more radical than that. I received some inspiration after watching an episode of Samurai Champloo which involved a bunch of old Edo era punks and graffiti.

Even though it looks kinda of rough, from the use of acrylic paints, all hand painted. I felt that was pretty necessary for the look, as spray paint doesn't always go on uniform and clean lined. There was one massive mistake I hadn't realized until I had finished it, and that was that the Raider is CS-35 not CS-6. But I guess I can just paint up a 6 dart clip with it, and problem solved.

All in all, I really love how it's turning out. It took a good couple hours, and a few more studying graffiti art to figure out how I was going to do all of this. It all seems to be worth it though. I absolutely love how this is turning out.

  2. May I suggest stencils. I do like the ease the acrylics offer, but creating stencils and spraying will reach that same look, but with a better quality. IMO. However, this comment does not mean that the gun is not 100% bad-assery. Cheers Ben.

  5. That's great stuff Neo. You don't see many paint jobs like that, and you've really pulled it off nicely. I'd be interested to see more work in that style.
